Prime Big Deal Days Has Started, but One Seller Promotion Window Is Still Open
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days officially runs from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 through 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7. Amazon is promoting the event across consumer Prime and Prime Business audiences, while shopper coverage is emphasizing Prime membership and free-trial access as the gateway to event pricing.
For sellers, however, the important deadline is different.
Best Deals and Lightning Deals had to be submitted by September 22. Amazon says Prime Exclusive Price Discounts (PEDs) can still be submitted on eligible ASINs up to 12 hours before Prime Big Deal Days ends, with no advance scheduling required. Coupons also remain available through the event.
That gives brands that missed the main deal-sourcing window one final way to add event-specific pricing while shoppers are already active.
The Fee-Free Point Ends Before the Promotion Goes Live
Last-minute participation should not be mistaken for free participation.
Amazon’s 2026 U.S. holiday guidance lists the same peak-event fee structure used for Prime Day for Best Deals, Lightning Deals, and Prime Exclusive Price Discounts:
-
$100 upfront per promotion
-
1.5% of promotional sales
-
Variable fee capped at $5,000
Amazon previously offered a $50 reduction to the upfront fee for Prime Big Deal Days deals submitted by August 5, but that early-submission incentive has already passed.
The timing of the promotion itself also matters. Amazon’s peak-event price-discount fee framework distinguishes between canceling before a promotion begins and canceling after it is already running. Fee guidance indicates that sellers can avoid the promotion charge when a discount is canceled before its scheduled start, while canceling a promotion after launch does not eliminate the fee.
In other words, setting up a promotion is not the same as successfully running one. Sellers should review the final fee shown in Seller Central before allowing a late-created discount to go live.
Last-Minute Entry Only Works if the ASIN Is Ready
The remaining submission window should not encourage brands to discount every eligible ASIN.
Before launching a Prime Exclusive Price Discount, check:
-
Promotion status: Confirm the ASIN is eligible and the intended event pricing is active.
-
Inventory: Make sure sellable units can support additional event traffic.
-
Margin: Recalculate contribution after the discount, promotion fee, advertising, fulfillment, and expected returns.
-
Advertising: Avoid automatically increasing bids simply because the event is live.
-
Listing readiness: Make sure shoppers landing on the detail page have enough information to convert.
Amazon is releasing new consumer deals throughout the event, including limited-time drops multiple times per day. That means competitive pricing and visibility can change quickly even after a seller’s promotion goes live.
beBOLD Digital’s Take: A Late Deal Still Needs a Profitability Case
The remaining Prime Big Deal Days window is useful, but speed should not replace commercial judgment.
At beBOLD Digital, we recommend treating a last-minute PED as an ASIN-level decision. Confirm what you want the promotion to accomplish, calculate what the discounted order can afford in advertising, verify stock, and then monitor the offer after launch.
The goal is not simply to display an event badge. It is to turn elevated Prime traffic into profitable demand without creating an inventory or margin problem before Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
