Amazon Replaces Existing New Selection Program With Expanded 2026 Version
Amazon is replacing its current New Selection Program with the New Selection Program (2026) starting July 30, 2026. The updated program is designed to reduce early launch costs for eligible new branded FBA ASINs and give sellers more room to test new products before full-scale investment.
According to Amazon’s announcement, sellers already enrolled in the existing New Selection Program will automatically receive the 2026 benefits for eligible new branded FBA ASINs launched from July 30 through October 31, 2026. After October 31, sellers must confirm enrollment to continue receiving the updated benefits.
The new benefits include instant fee credits equivalent to capping referral fees at 10% or the seller’s existing lower rate on the first 100 units, then 5% or the existing lower rate on the next 100 units. Amazon also lists $50 in coupon variable fee credits and $75 in Vine enrollment fee credits, usable within the first 60 days.
Eligible sellers can also receive free storage, free customer returns, and free liquidations on the first 200 units for the first 120 days. Amazon is also waiving low-inventory-level fees and storage utilization surcharges on the first 200 units during that same 120-day period. Sellers using Vine Pre-launch may receive a 45-day extension on these benefits.
How the Expanded Program Impacts Launch Costs and Strategy for Sellers
This update matters because product launches are often margin-negative before they become profitable. New ASINs usually need inventory, listing work, PPC investment, promotional support, review generation, and early sales velocity before they can compete.
The expanded program can reduce some of that pressure, especially for brands launching multiple ASINs in Q3 and Q4. Lower fee exposure, free storage, and reduced return-related costs can make the early testing window more forgiving.
But the timing is important. Sellers planning new FBA launches should review whether inventory should arrive after July 30 to qualify under the new structure. Brands should also watch the October 31 confirmation deadline so benefits do not lapse after the introductory transition period.
This is also a margin-planning update, not just an operations update. Sellers should revisit launch forecasts, contribution margin, storage exposure, and ad spend limits before assuming the new credits will make every launch profitable. beBOLD Digital’s Perspective on How Sellers Should Approach the Updated Program
Amazon is making new product launches less expensive, but not necessarily easier. The brands that benefit most will be the ones that pair these incentives with disciplined launch planning, strong listings, realistic inventory quantities, and PPC budgets tied to actual margin.
Before July 30, sellers should audit upcoming ASINs, confirm eligibility, review Vine and coupon strategy, and update launch economics around the first 200 units.
