Pandora Taps a Beauty and Ecommerce Veteran for North America
Pandora has named André Branch president of North America, one of the jewelry company’s largest growth markets. He succeeds Luciano Rodembusch, who left Pandora in February, and will take up the role on August 15.
Branch brings more than 25 years of experience across consumer, beauty, and lifestyle businesses. Most recently, he served as CEO of Ariana Grande’s R.e.m. Beauty. His résumé also includes leadership roles at M·A·C Cosmetics and L’Oréal USA, where he led ecommerce and digital operations.
Branch also served on Signet Jewelers’ board from 2021 until his resignation in July 2026. That combination of beauty, digital commerce, and jewelry experience gives Pandora a leader who understands both brand building and the operational demands of omnichannel retail.
His appointment comes during a significant transition for Pandora. Berta de Pablos-Barbier became CEO at the start of 2026, while the company has been working to strengthen its position as a full jewelry brand and improve customer relevance. Pandora reported softer traffic and consumer sentiment in North America during 2025, making regional execution an immediate priority.
L’Oréal Continues Its North American Leadership Reset
L’Oréal has promoted Rahquel Purcell from chief transformation officer to chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer for North America.
Purcell joined L’Oréal in 2016 after more than two decades at Procter & Gamble. Her previous responsibilities at L’Oréal have covered supply chain, operations, organizational transformation, digital omnichannel initiatives, and new ways of working across the business.
Her appointment follows a wider North American succession process at L’Oréal. Alexis Perakis-Valat became CEO of L’Oréal USA and president of North America on January 1, 2026, succeeding David Greenberg, who moved into the newly created role of chairman of L’Oréal USA.
For a beauty group operating across mass retail, prestige, professional, direct-to-consumer, and marketplace channels, Purcell’s operational background gives the DE&I role a broader commercial dimension. Inclusive growth is shaped not only by advertising, but also by product development, organizational decisions, data, distribution, and the customer experience.
The Marketplace Signal: Growth Leadership Is Becoming More Cross-Functional
These appointments are not direct Amazon platform updates, but they offer a useful signal for established ecommerce brands.
Pandora selected a leader with experience across ecommerce, brand management, and physical retail. L’Oréal elevated an executive whose background connects supply chain, organizational transformation, and digital commerce with inclusion strategy.
For marketplace operators, the lesson is that channel growth is increasingly difficult to separate from the rest of the organization. Marketplace performance depends on coordinated decisions across product, creative, retail media, inventory, data, customer experience, and brand positioning.
Brands should watch how these leadership changes translate into regional media investment, marketplace assortments, retail partnerships, product launches, and customer acquisition strategies. Those actions will reveal more than the appointments alone.
beBOLD Digital’s Take
The strongest consumer brands are putting leaders with broad operating experience in positions that influence growth. That matters because Amazon and other marketplaces no longer function as isolated sales channels. They are part of a connected retail system in which brand strategy, media, inventory, and customer relevance must work together.
For established brands, the practical takeaway is to evaluate whether marketplace leadership has the authority and cross-functional support needed to execute.
